Smart Glasses in Manufacturing: How Tanna Infotech Delivered a Real-Time Industrial Application

The manufacturing industry is undergoing a massive digital transformation. From automation to IoT, every advancement is aimed at improving efficiency, safety, and decision-making. One of the most promising technologies leading this change is smart glasses.

At Tanna Infotech, we recently had the opportunity to develop a real-time application for Vuzix Smart Glasses for one of our USA-based clients. Here’s how we made it happen.

The Challenge

In manufacturing plants, operators need to constantly monitor parameters like temperature, pressure, and machine conditions. Traditionally, this requires physical screens, handheld devices, or constant manual checks – slowing down workflows and introducing inefficiencies.

Our client wanted a hands-free solution where operators could get live updates directly within their line of sight, without disrupting their tasks.

The Solution

We designed and built a smart glasses application using Android and Flutter, tailored for Vuzix devices.

  • Real-time data feed: A backend powered by Python scripts connects with industrial devices, processes inputs, and streams updates to the glasses.
  • Dynamic parameters: Temperature and other metrics update instantly as data changes.
  • Hands-free visibility: Operators stay informed without diverting attention from critical tasks.

Why Smart Glasses are the Future

Smart glasses are more than a futuristic gadget – they are becoming a cornerstone of Industry 4.0.

  • They enhance worker safety by reducing distractions.
  • They boost efficiency by providing real-time insights.
  • They enable remote assistance, training, and workflow digitization.

With manufacturers worldwide embracing digital-first strategies, smart glasses will play a key role in building connected, intelligent factories.

The Impact

Our client now has a production-ready solution that empowers their operators with real-time, actionable data directly on their glasses. This not only improves productivity but also sets the stage for further innovation across their operations.

At Tanna Infotech, we’re excited to be shaping the future of industrial technology – one innovation at a time.
